Useful Links
On this page you'll find a collection of useful links that are worth a
visit. Most of these are local attractions and services based in or close to
Llanberis, Snowdon. You can walk to all of them from the Padarn Lake Hotel
The Welsh Slate Museum,
Llanberis, Snowdonia. As seen on BBC2's 'Fred Dibnah's Made In Britain'. See the
story of slate at this living museum. Visit a terrace of quarrymen's houses, a
stunning 3D presentation and the giant waterwheel. There are also daily slate
splitting demonstrations and admission is FREE!
The Electric Mountain
& Dinorwig Power Station, Llanberis, Snowdonia. Take a guided tour to Dinorwig
Power Station hidden deep in a mountain cavern. An amazing insight into a pumped
storage station. There is also a visitors centre where the tour starts.
If we're full at the Padarn Lake Hotel, we strongly recommend
our sister hotel, the Gwynedd Hotel.
The Gwynedd Hotel is just a few yards up the road from us, and even has live webcams!
Dolbadarn
Pony Trekking Centre, Dolbadarn Hotel, Llanberis, Snowdonia. A family run
business providing one hour, two hour, half and full day rides in the foothills
of Snowdon.
Snowdon Computers, Llanberis,
Snowdonia. Snowdon computers are based in the village and specialise in ex
corporate computers. They sell all the stock via EBAY on the internet and there
are always bargains to be had. You can shop anytime you like online, and then
combine picking up your bargains with a stay or a meal at the Gwynedd Hotel &
Restaurant. Alternatively
they offer delivery on everything they sell.
Snowdoniaguide is a useful site
full of information about the Snowdonia National park. It covers the major
peaks, beaches and villages of the area as well as events happening in the area.
